چکیده
Aquivion membrane displays improved properties as compared to Nafion membrane, partly due shorter side chains. However, some improvements are still necessary for proton exchange fuel cell operate at low relative humidity. To overcome this drawback, the addition of clay nanoparticle into matrix can be considered. In study, different composite membranes have been prepared mixing short-side-chain PFSA (perfluorosulfonic acid) and selectively modified halloysite nanotubes PEMFC humidity operation. Halloysites were grafted with fluorinated groups, sulfonated or perfluoro-sulfonated groups on inner outer surface tubes. The obtained showed properties, especially higher water uptake associated reduced swelling better mechanical strength pristine commercially available HP used reference. best performance in study was loaded 5 wt% pretreated halloysite. referred Aq/pHNT-SF5, displayed largest conductivity among panel tested. chemical stability not affected by presence matrix.

PEDOT/PSS-Halloysite Nanotubes (HNTs) Hybrid Films: Insulating HNTs Enhance Conductivity of the PEDOT/PSS Films.
We have for the first time found that completely insulating Halloysite nanotubes (HNTs) significantly enhance electrical conductivity of PEDOT/PSS films by simply mixing. Based on this accident finding we have created highly porous and conductive PEDOT/PSS films hybridized with the HNTs. Through further optimization of the mixing condition we have obtained flexible and conductive hybrid films w...

Halloysite nanotube (HNT)-based supramolecular complexes are synthesized and evaluated with respect to their cytotoxicity and effects on cellular structures. As HNTs are water-insoluble, DNA is applied for wrapping the surface of HNTs to enhance their water-dispersibility. To investigate the potential of DNA-wrapped HNTs (HD) as a promising drug delivery carrier, doxorubicin (DOX) is introduced...
متن کاملSurface Improvement of Halloysite Nanotubes
A novel development on halloysite-polyvinyl alcohol (HNTs-PVA) nanocomposites has been conducted using malonic acid (MA) by crosslinking PVA and HNTs. PVA-MA crosslinking produces smooth surfaces, which play an important role in enhancing the properties of HNTs-PVA nanocomposite. The crystallographic structures of crosslinked HNTs-PVA show almost no change as depicted by the X-ray diffraction (...
متن کاملApproaches and Recent Development of Polymer Electrolyte Membranes for Fuel Cells Operating above 100 ° C
The state-of-the-art of polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cell (PEMFC) technology is based on perfluorosulfonic acid (PFSA) polymer membranes operating at a typical temperature of 80 °C. Some of the key issues and shortcomings of the PFSA-based PEMFC technology are briefly discussed. These include water management, CO poisoning, hydrogen, reformate and methanol as fuels, cooling, and heat recov...
